Job Description

Terms of Reference
Polio Laboratory Assistant (Environmental Surveillance)
Under the overall supervision of the WHO representative, the incumbent is expected to undertake the following duties:
· Routine work of cell Culture laboratory
· Preparation of cell culture growth media and cell lines used for isolation of viruses
· Preservation, storage and revival of cell lines
· Maintain sterility of cell culture reagents and media
· Maintaining the tidiness of the laboratory and observe the good laboratory practices
· Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the supervisor
Experience:
The candidate should have
· More than 10 years experience of working with cell culture techniques like;
o Preparation of different cell culture media used for viral culture
o Propagation of different cell lines and sub-culture maintenance
o Preparation of cell banking, cell line preservation, storage and recovery
