Job Description
Under the guidance of Chairperson of NCSW, the Communications and Advocacy Manager will implement the plans and activities falling under the Advocacy and Campaigning section of the Program. His/her main role is to lead the Communication and Advocacy section of NCSW, ensuring smooth functioning of program related activities, consistency and professional handling of media and campaigns and constant evaluation and readjustment of the activities to take into account changes in the operating environment as and when needed.
More specifically, the Communication and Advocacy Manager will have the following duties and responsibilities:
· Spearhead the development , implementation and management of NCSW Advocacy and Communications Strategy with particular attention to production of publications and information products (including audio-visual products), events and the NCSW Program Strategy areas;
· Assist and guides the Regional Consultants/team(s), foster collaboration within the team, NCSW programme staff, and with other government Agencies and donors on the issues that NCSW is taking up for advocacy and campaign at any particular time of the year;
· Contribute to the coordination, development and implementation of key related events, including international and regional conferences, consultation meetings, public meetings, seminars etc. ;
· Undertake a range of external and internal writing assignments e.g.: press releases, statements, fact sheets, Qamp; As, newsletters, briefing documents, key messages and any other writing assignments as required.
· Analyze particular issue- related stakeholders’ communication needs and develop capacity building events for them;
· In collaboration with NCSW Communications and Advocacy team, design communication materials for the different targets and groups through different media;
· Work with the web producer to develop content for the web site related to events, Special Advocates and as necessary
· Build network linkages/rapport with the different media channels, high-profile figures and celebrities relations for smooth positioning of the Advocacy campaign;
· Organize press conferences and briefings with NCSW officials.
· Carry out any other tasks as requested by the Chairperson.
Required Skills
Education

Masters Degree or equivalent in Social Science or related fields

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of practical experience on legal policy research, analysis, and advice.
Experience in gender work and deep understanding of the issues of women in Pakistan.
Work experience with the government and understanding of its institutional processes will be an extra advantage
Maturity to work harmoniously with persons of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds; and ability to work under conditions of extreme pressure and difficult living conditions.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team.

Skills
Good computer skills in Window environment, knowledge of Internet communications and command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Strong analytical, writing and communication skills

Language Requirements
Fluency in English (knowledge of local language is an asset) and Urdu.
