Job Description
The incumbent will execute the following tasks and responsibilities under the overall guidance of the Line Manager and in close cooperation with National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Department of Education and other key stakeholders in school safety work.
1. Assist in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities related to One UN DRM in provinces, Capital District Administration and Development Division, and FATA in close coordination and collaboration with relevant government stakeholders.
2. Assist in the integration of disaster risk reduction into provincial education policies and plans.
3. Assist in advocating and raising awareness on DRR issues at the provincial level.
4. Develop and maintain excellent collaboration and coordination with One UN participating agencies, I/NGOs and government counterparts to maximize impact of interventions of One UN Programme and assist in creating thematic network of organizations as well as updating of school safety intervention matrix (database).
5. Prepare contracts for implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction in Education by stakeholders and monitor implementation ensuring quality outputs for such interventions.
6. Follow up on the work done by UNESCO in the field of DRR to ensure continuity and sustainability.
7. Assist in programme development and resource mobilization for DRR in education.
8. Ensure visibility of the work being carried out by the UN and the UNESCO.
9. Carry out any other DRR related tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

1.Masters degree from a recognized university in a relevant field.
2.At least 3 years of extensive work experience in disaster risk reduction, mitigation and prevention.
3.Good understanding of disaster risks issues in education.
4.Excellent ability to write and communicate in English and Urdu.
5.Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
6.Prior relevant work experience of UN will be an asset.
7.Pro-active and initiator.
